Carbon Monoxide Alarms

Has anyone experienced these alarms going off without explanation. HOw do you shut these things up without disconnecting, thus defeating the purpose in the fist place. Are they sensitive to lightning ?

I have heard that in Very New Boats

that the "smell" of the new plastic/fiberglass can cause the CO alarms to falsely go off. Supoosedly it goes away after a little while..

hello mike, an audio alarm would be a good thing to have. SPORTY'S PILOT SHOP sells two 9v.battery operated models for use in aircraft also detectors that you can stick on the boat in various places to monitor by a change in colour about $ 3.95 each. www.sportys.com 1-800-liftoff. john
