Probably Not
Unless your car has a towing package and is rated for about 3000 lbs. of towing, don't do it. I wouldn't be surprised if you owner's manual limits you to 1000 lbs. for a standard Intrigue. As Rob says, check your owners' manual.I prematurely wore out a transmission towing a boat a lot that was at the limits of what the car could handle. The other issue is that the Intrigue itself isn't that heavy (approx 3400 lbs.), which becomes an issue on braking distances with the trailer behind. I assume your trailer has surge brakes, which would help.A general rule of thumb, alway subject to info in owners' manuals is, open daysailers and dinghies can be towed by mid-sized sedans, small cruisers (like the Cat 22) by 6-cylinder SUV's, and medium sized cruisers by heavy pickups and large SUV's.
