CAPRI HISTORY

I have owned 2 Catalina 30s and 1 Catalina 42 over the years. They are wonderful sailboats, but I am now going to purchase a Capri 18. I am familier with the history of the Catalina brand but I don't know anything about the history of Capri sailboats. Any information would be appreciated.Thanks Steve Mielke

Capri sailboats

The Capri line of sailboats from Catalina Yachts is more sport/daysailer oriented. There are the small daysailer Capri 14.2 and 16.5 boats. The C-16 and 18 are nice microcruisers for daysailing/overnighting. The Capri 22 is a sportier 22 footer than a typical Cat 22. The larger Capris are also more racing/sport oriented than other Catalina boats of similar size. Note that Catalina has dropped the Capri name on most of the Capri boats. Anybody know if there is still a Capri 37? It looks much different than any other Catalina, but I've never heard anything about it besides what you can see on this site.
