hmmmm
given that the 222 is a mid 80s model i assume you are looking at later model boats. personally i liked the interior of the 222 but the rig seemed light and gelcoat only fair. there will also be maintainence for the centerboard which rudy of oday parts fame says you get about 8 years before needing to replace the pin. if you are going to trailer id buy the 222(draws less than the cat swing i believe and its a good looking boat) the cat 22 (which i own now ) comes in swing or wing. i have a wing. less maintainence but much more of a pain to launch( especially by yourself) the mast is no problem on your own. interior is fair. if you want to trailer get the swing keel . put a keel pin kit in it and forget it for a few years . ive had a capri 18 as well and is by far the better boat in performance and sailing comfort. i think the 18 sails better than the cat 22) but accomodations below are simple (not saying that the cat 22 is that much better it really isnt it just give you a sink to look at, i use a bucket istead and a small counter, the table is stored out of the way as its too small for me sit at comfortably) ive stayed on the capri for 11 days without coming in with minimal discomfort.i have sailed the 22model and find it quite practical boat except for the lauching dificulties and it draws 2 extra inches.than the cat 22. if it were me and you like the oday and have a big truck look at the 23 , its a whole lot more boat with the same draft, and maintainence but 1000lbs bigger and roomier. had one of those in fla and sailed it all over. if you want more specific info email at mattmansh@yahoo.com more than happy help you out.
