Capri 18, can it take a bimini top under sail??

Hello,I hope someone can help me out. I am considering buying a used 1987 Catalina Capri 18. I would like to rig it with a bimini top that can be left up under sail to block out the sun... Can this be done on this boat?? Or do I need to find a bigger boat??Johnjohn@clickboxpro.com

There was a short discussion about this - search BIMINI in the Capri 18 site.Also, in C-18's for sale here, there is one listing a bimini as an option.I've never seen one, and don't really know if there is enough clearance to make it practical. It seems like visibility would be compromised.I do know several folks who have rigged sun shades that can be put up at anchor, that completely shade the cockpit.Great little boat though, I think you'll love it. We have certainly never regreted downsizing (from a 26 footer) to it.
