I wanted to write and tell everyone of a beautiful business my wife and setup with our Hunter 33'. We have a primary service business here on Cape Cod and our clients knew we had a 33' Hunter Sloop. Almost immediately we had inquiries for chartered sail trips around the Cape and Islands. With that said we contacted the insurance company and placed charter insurance on our boat. Even with the bad weather this last summer we were booked constantly with charters. I have always wanted to sail around the world and live the dream of so many articles in all the sailing publications. I may not yet be able to live the full dream but at least I have one foot into it. I would love to hear of other people who may have done the same as we did. Granted it was easier for me because I Have my uscg master 100 ton near coastal. Those of you wishing to do it I say do it. Have a visit to our site if you wish. www.selkiecharters.com or @ yahoo groups capecodsailing for some great photos of what a cherubini hunter can do. Regards Captain John

I'm hoping to do something similar

Hi John, I hope your venture continues to be a success and your web site is great. I have been planning to do something similar and believe getting my oupv is the right first step. I passed all the CG exams and physical, drug test and all my documentation was in order, I thought, and I visited the CG last April. My 1970's underway days were not accepted due to lack of sufficient documentation. I did what I could since then to accumulate days but am still 20 days short. I don't know how yet but I hope to have these behind me by next April so I can try again and not have to retake the exams. My boat is a H336, keep it in Hull, and my plans are to do what you are doing but add lessons to the choices. I believe there are a lot of people out there considering moving up to a bigger boat and would like a day or two of first hand experience operating and maintaining all the system that are on this size boat. The fact that you are doing well is evidence that my plans have merit and has remotivated me to follow through on my plan. Happy holidays, Bob Pilgrim
