Mark, I'm not quite sure of the reason you added
additional mast bend? Was this mast bend or possibly mast rake? What I have found on my 95 H26 was once mast rake was firmly set and shroud tension values set, the amount of mast bend was slightly greater than 1 inch and rake was 5 inches. The boat sailed wonderfully, pointed very high and strong with just enough weather helm. After setting the tension on the mast I have found that jib sheet blocks and their position in relation to the ammount of jib furled in or out was the most needed item to get control of and learn about. As I posted yesterday, I have moved temporary jib sheet blocks all over my boat on all points of sail just to learn their effect on the sail plan. What a blast! Heck, since there are few sailors in our area and even fewer races I can play all day just seeing how much more I can ring out of Speedy with just these changes.Keep a very good log book of all your placements and appearant wind values and boat speed. Then enjoy. Hell, some of my changes were sooooo wrong that we just shut her down, laughed hard and had a cool brew. No rules, jsut right.RayS/V SpeedyPS. A complete copy of the process I used to set Speedy up was posted on this site about a month ago. Find a copy or write back and I send on your way.
