I am in NY and on the way up from Florida got a good deal on a Doyle APC spinnaker with every thing needed.
Can't wait to get back to Florida and start flying it on my Hunter 36,this will be my first attempt at using a spinnaker and ATN shut, any good advice I should know.

Well that does it. You're not getting anything else!

Now is that a complete system with the sock? I have something similar. It is called a drifter but is still an asymmetrical spinnaker. I don't have a sock yet so setting and dousing is a bit of exercise. Flying it is no problem. You will need to practice jibing though. Probably, if you do have a sock, best to douse and reset.

I got an aspin this fall and had it up a couple of times. It is very fun. The one thing that I realized right away is to make absolutely sure that your sheets and tack line are straight and organized and that the sail is not twisted up inside the sock before you deploy it. Head to a beam reach so the sail fills quickly and full. Then start working your way slowly down wind to a broad reach. I was able to fly mine to about 150" by going slowly and playing with the tack line. I am in the process of building a retractable bow sprit which should allow an even deeper reach. I don't expect to go DDW but hopefully close. It is awesome to see it fly and see the knot meter to too far behind the wind speed. Mine is a 3/4 ounce as that was recommended for my end of the planet and this limits me to 15knots of wind, but I'm thinking that I will not be using it in anything more than 10 or 12. I haven't jibed it yet but the folks on this forum advised that it is a little nerve racking. The best way, apparently, is to let it fly straight out front through the turn and then pull it back in as you head on the other tack. Have fun, sure makes the boat look good. Ian
