I just bought a 2009 Hunter 33 (my fourth Hunter), and am delighted with it. I have one very minor problem that I need help with. It came with a JVC Stereo and DVD player that is wired into speakers in the cabin and the cockpit and with a 12 volt Sole' 15" Television. I presume that they were all installed by Hunter when she was built. I cannot make the TV turn on, either with the remote or the TV "on" button. The 12 volt feed to the TV is dead. I am certain that it has something to do with the DVD player, because the DVD and TV are on the same 12 volt breaker. Does anyone have any suggestions on this?

Hunter 33 -
fuse?

There is a good chance there is an inline fuse somewhere on the 12 volt feed. Or, the 12 volt feed is just not wired correctly. Test it with a different circuit breaker with new wire to see where the power is lost.

Thanks, Jack. I'll try to trace it through tomorrow in daylight. Looks to me that they wired the electronics and then built the boat around it.

Are you sure it is 12 volt,*I saw a brand new Hunter with TV and Bosch speakers and the TV had it's own small inverter just for the TV and another Inverter also.

Yes, the input to the TV is 12 volt dc. The former owner said that the 12 volt power to the TV had to come through the JSC CD/DVD player, but I have been unable to find the magic combination. The DC connection on the 12 volt panel is marked "TV/DVD," but there is no direct lead that I can find to the TV set. I am feeling realy dumb. I may throw myself on the mercy of the Hunter Service Desk.

Double check, I'm pretty certain that if you trace the wires you'll find that your TV is plugged into a small inverter. It may have come upplugged or the inverter may be bad or have triped it's fuse or breaker.

TV connection on Hunter 33

When I disassembled everything below, I discovered an in-line fuse in the TV lead that was woefully undersized and had blown. Replaced it and we are in business. Thanks for your prompt reply.
