Okay- weve had our 1996 H-26 for a few months now. So far we have been totally unsuccessful in getting our pop top to open. We slide the hatch all the way forward, but it stops about 1/2 inch before getting to the point where it clears the rails. Weve tried everything we can think of, but we just can't get the thing to slide all the way forward. As far as we can tell there isnt anything stuck inside there jamming it. Any one else encountered this problem? Please help, thanks, Kevin

pop top

two things come to mind. Either the installation is wrong or you do not know the trick to buttoning up. is this a Amereiseam product. Advise.

Stuck

I have a similar problem on my H240. If the hatch isn't going all the way forward use your palm to push up on the hatch from the bottom. This will get it over the lip at the front and allow the hatch to slide all the way forward. Hope this helps.

PopTop Stuck

When I got my 23.5 the Plexiglass got stuck when I slid it forward. I found the the poptop was riding on the plexiglass and binding it. If I lifted on the poptop while sliding the hatch fwd it was fine. This became a real pain for me. So I took it all apart and screwed teflon washers to the wood frame of poptop. I made sure the screws were counter sunk. The washers now ride on the plexiglass and the hatch slides smoothly. Hope this is what you are talking about.

pop top ... ca-plop

I've got the same issue on my '96 H26. About half an inch from being completely pushed forward, the top seems to catch on something. That last half inch is hell. It appears the teak brace is catching on the plexiglass somehow and it's a pain. In fact the second mate doesn't have to strength to force it that last half inch. I usually bull-dog it into completely open. It sounds like the teflon screws or slides of some sort might work. I've even considered trimming the teak brace a little to reduce the drag. Any thoughts? Like Dave R. said

try lifting up on the forward end of the plexiglass as you slide it forward all the way. Tom M.
