So, in only a few day begins (yet another) 14-day exploration of the northern Channel Islands of Southern California. 
Hope to concentrate some time among the outer islands of Santa Rosa and San Miguel, which are both in the US National Park system. The weather out there (e.g., San Miguel is 60 n.mi. west of Ventura Harbor) has been fairly moderate the past few weeks. Maybe we'll have only 20-25 kt winds through the night instead of 30 kt+ as per usual!! Just bought some new 5/8" 3-strand nylon line to make-up a new chain snubber! The admirals are up for it!! Have a companion boat, a Hunter 45 Passage, I believe, in the troupe! It's been 8 yr since the Bavaria has anchored the night at Santa Rosa Island in Bechers Bay--a long night I'll long remember considering that I saw nearly minute of it from the cockpit!
