Can't find valves to sink in the head

Morning everyone,
*Edited post* Thank you for the replies so far. I should have said that I have already traced the lines, most of which are not visible, and I remember the valves being extremely hidden. We only found them during the sea trial by lucky accident. So if anyone knows off the top of their head (ha ha ha) where the valves might be to the sink in the head...thank you!

I remember locating the freshwater valves for the head sink during the sea trial and haulout/inspection before I bought my boat. Alas, now that I've bought her, a 1999 Hunter 340 named Bella Vita, I cannot remember for the life of me, nor seem to locate, the valves to run hot and cold freshwater to the sink in the head. I believe they run from the cockpit shower back forward to the head? Help! I'm tired of brushing my teeth in the galley.

Welcome aboard! You'll find that the people on this site are a fun and helpful group. Don't limit yourself to only the Hunter forums...there are a whole bunch forums here that are useful for owners of all sailboats of any make, age and size.

I can't imagine that any builder would route hot and cold water to a cockpit shower first and THEN to sinks....the cockpit shower would logically be last stop for the plumbing. Have you looked under the sink for any shutoff valves in the hot and cold water lines to the faucets? If there aren't any, you may just have to find the water pump and start following the fresh water hoses to find out where they go.

And while you're doing that, it would also be a good idea to find all the thru-hulls and seacocks. When your deck shoes are afloat in the cabin is a bit late to start hunting 'em.

You'll have to trace the water lines if the galley faucet and transom shower work ok. My 99 H340 does not have any valves at the service locations so your previous owner may have added them. Open the doors under the sink. Look for the plastic lines coming up from the hull liner connecting to the faucet lines and see if they are connected and there are valves to open. If not there, then trace the lines from the water pump to find the tees that split the line into the hot water heater inlet and going to all the cold faucets. On our boat the water heater and water pump are under the port settee, just remove all those access panels and look around.

I don't believe there are any valves.;)

I assume you are not getting water flow to head at all, but to the galley sink.

Hunter did a great job making all serviceable components "accessible" on my H430. Not easy, but there.

I have valves on the fresh water pump suction only because I have 2 water tanks.

The pump has a check valve and the sinks have the discharge valves.
If you find one, let the forum know where please

Our 1991 model boat came with two head sinks and a galley sink. None have fresh water shut off valves other than the faucet; they do each have sink drain through hull sea cocks. The only shut off valves on our boat are at each tank and before the fresh water pump. That way we can select each tank or both for fresh water draw. Seems redundant to me to have shut off valves at each sink.

If you looked around and found no valves then the bath faucet is clogged it happens cut off water pump and remove one of the knobs with a Philips head screwdriver. Remove stem with a wrench or channel locks if you see water in hole then bump pump on for a second to check for water now clean out stem check "o" rings and put back together
