Has anyone used the canned expanded foam on their boat to hold things in place? ex water tanks, plastic containers for storage etc. If used what problems have you run into or what should I be watchful of. ANY ADVICE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. BARNEY

be careful

it is not closed cell foam, therefore will absorb water. It is nearly impossible to dry out after getting wet.

Absorb water

Yeah, it will absorb water. This doesn't make the foam weaker, just heavier. Don't count it out - it's a good way to fill irregular spaces and it dries pretty rigidly. For example, on a sunfish, they use it to hold the internal floatation in place. a LOT of it, and a 30 yr old sunfish that might gain 30 lbs of water weight from an initial 10-15 lbs of foam.
