I have some left over 2 cycle gas+oil mixture and I was wondering what would happen if I put in my 4 cycle outboard. Some might say it might foul my plugs...but it doesn't on the 2 cycle. Thanks in advance. abe

ummmmm duh!

why would you want to? Take the hit and throw it out or use it in a 2-cycle engine. Worse case you loss a couple of dollars in gas (better than ruining your good motor).

2-cycle gas

I put older gas/oil mixes in my truck and fill the truck tank. The dilution takes care of things.

Use in your vehicle

Put the fuel into your vehicle and fill up the tank.n Just like larry said. It will not hurt anything. It can't be just thrown out like someone else suggested. It will probably do more good than bad, Regards.

Think about it. The gas/oil mix is

what? 50:1 ? it doesn't foul the plugs in the two cycle engine. I presume that you have more than a gallon or two, Let's say five. So you have five gallons of gas and one tenth of a gallon of oil. That is about thirteen ounces. You could burn this in the car or truck without any additional gas and be all right. The oil is in there for lubricating the engine, it is low ash and low smoke. I once had a car that burned a quart of oil every thousand miles. At twenty mile per gallon that was fifty gallons of gas and a quart of oil. It didn't even smoke very much.

or...you could give it to the gardner.

...just make sure you get your can back.

Routinely Use in My 4 stroke Motor

I very often use 2 stroke gas oil mix in my lawn mower and have put it in a car. No problems with either. Actually the lawn mower might run a little better with the oil. The mower doesn't produce any visable smoke.

good for it

Running a little oil through a 4-stroke's fuel system every once in a while used to be standard practice. The theory was that it lubed the top end, and that is what a major purpose of lots of additives is anyway. When it is diluted by pouring it into a relatively full auto/truck tank, as has been noted, the proportion of oil is so small that the resulting mix won't even cause noticeable smoke at the tailpipe. It won't hurt anything.
