It says in the blurb that it auto tacks thru 110 degrees which seems a bit much. Is it possible to set the auto tack angle? (Or doesn't it matter for some reason? (what?)) Maybe I should get an ST4000+ which I believe has a user defined tack angle. I'm also worried about interference from the throttle & gear levers on the WP30.

I think that is the default.

Patrick: I think that 110 is the factory default. You can adjust this as well as several other features.

Not easily though...

The manual says that it is preset at 100 degrees and that another device - either a C600AD Corus Programmer Active display (configured to PILOT) or a CP600 Corus Programmer whatever those are! With a separate device manual says can be set between 40 and 140 degrees. I am using this as an excuse to get wind instruments instead :)) since it says it will tack to same wind angle when attached to wind instruments. Also, I have had no issues with it maintaining steer to compass and it is installed on the pedestal which has throttle, gear selector and compass.

Follow up

I contacted my marina's service department thinking that this CORUS programmer was a manufacturer independant tool for all NMEA devices - but apparently not. That advised me to contact a local simrad dealer and have them bring out a programming device. I would rather have wind instruments :)
