Can the luff tape size be changed on a brand new sail?

After posting a previous question to the group-it appears my new jib was built with the wrong size luff tape. The sail was made by Doyle and they were told I had a Schaefer Snapfurl. I have read that this unit requires a #6 luff tape. Since it's never been installed, can I send it back to them and have a smaller diameter foil installed in the sail? Thanks in advance for all those who helped me with the first question. This site is a great resource.

they should take it back and fix the problem, it has to fit the furler properly,
