Any ideas on how to put a seat on the stern rail to rest my weary backside and see over the boat when sailing or motoring a 260?

I found a folding seat at West Marine, which is designed for a pedastal. I had two stainless steel straps mounted to the back (spring steel) so they can hook over the lower rail of the stern rails. Then I had two short "feet" mounted at the front of the seat. A couldp of holes to put pins in to keep it from folding while under way, and I have a great seat.

Alan, We saw them at
the Pacific Sail Expo in Oakland, Calif. last spring. They are a scandinavian product. It's a nice thing, cheaper than those foam cushions, and more versatile. Wife likes it for laying around in the cockpit and, like I said, I like it for the helmsman seat/stool. -Tom
