I am purchasing an H340 and will need to ship it to my home. The transporter would like me to remove the arch and I know that it is bolted on to the superstructure, but I wanted to know if it is designed to be dismantled and re-assembled again. Has anyone done this and is is relatively straightforward?

It's a fairly straightforward operation. In addition to unbolting, they'll be some wires that you'll need to disconnect and if you have the Stainless arch, make sure you have several sets of hands available. If the mast is still up , it's a good idea to use one of the halyards for support. The stainless arch has some heft to it in addition to being a little unwieldy. Hopefully they didn't put it on with 5200!

Yes, I hope they did use any glue, too. Sounds like we should use the mast to remove the arch first before taking down all the rigging for transport.
Taking it off is, as mentioned, straight-forward. And not particularly heavy. We had to transport all Hunters from the marina to the boat shows with the arches removed. Two average men can remove and install one but three is better.
The real issue is the reinstall. The holes usually do not line up very well and stainless does not flex easily. Get a bolt in one hole and leave loose. Then to the other side for another loose bolt. Get all the bolts in with just a couple of threads before you begin to tighten anything. Not particularly difficult but can be time-consuming. Try doing ten boats before the show opens!
