Sorry you don't understand.... but at least the person it was directed at did...
Maybe I can simplify..... There may be times when raising your voice may be excused...... Example........ in the case of an accidental jibe...Watch your head!!!!
Not sure what I misunderstood and my opinions are just that..... my opinions.... and not as a moderator. If I misunderstand what you wrote originally then I apologize.Finally got to take her out again end of August, and did the "unthinkable"...During a tack...I "yelled at her" to loosen the sheet...Bad move...she was done sailing and ready to go home
When we first met, the only boat Princes Di was familiar with was Casino Astar; actually got motion sick on a porch swing and claimed the only thing correctly named aboard my Catalina 27 was the boom.
Now, she can usually do things needing down below decks, while we are underway, without getting sick; gets upset with me because she can't make Morgan heel as easily as she could the Catalina; and is constantly hammering me to finish the projects we agreed on, so we can head down the Tenn-Tom to Mobile.
Think I will keep her.

That's awesome and happy to see you guys out in the Apostles.
It can be tricky business. Discuss lots and help each other not take it personally. Pia was new to sailing two years ago, and now can take Kestrel out with friends. But as Joe notes at any time there is ONE skipper on the boat, who has legal and practical responsibility for the safety of the boat and crew. 99% of the time on any boat its smooth sailing. But sometimes things need happen NOW, or NOT NOW. Its your job as skipper to get your point across, clearly and effectively. I try to not raise my voice unless its a matter of safety. Crew understands that. Work with your crew to let them know its not personal.
When you get that down, you're ready for chapter 2. Racing! ;^)

Maybe that it was our 34 anniversary might of had "something" to do with it..??
