Obvious question; why risk a mess for a small amount of cash?
And why allow dirty oil to circulate through a new clean oil filter?Sorry if I have missed something?John V1447 Breakaway--

I've heard of people changing filters every other oil change but not changing filters between oil changes unless your planning to inspect the filter for metal contaminants. Oil is cheap and engines are expensive. As far as the mess goes, get a hand pump and discharge the oil sump first the mitigate the amount of oil mess before maintenance. Oil absorbent pads are a must to contain spills. Cheers. From: "'sexton1313@...' sexton1313@... Change the oil in the oil filter at the same time that is the best way to goSent from my phone

Let me explain: it was my intention to change both the same time. But when i removed the oil i was unable to remove the oil filter because of my length (2 meter). Filter is in an impossible position for me. So i filled the engine with new oil with the idea that somebody else will do the oil filter change afterwards.
