Dipstick is old bilge pump handle should have a bronze piston with a flap valve on the bottom end, it,s probaly down the pipe.

Pipes area as follows ; rusty metal one is breather pipe for the fuel tank in the keel. It should have a mesh covering where it comes out on the outside of the port coaming.
smooth whitish pipe comes from the old bilge pump at the back of the cockpit and goes down underneath the fuel tank into trhe bilge. One of the green pipes is the fuel filler pipe and runs from the side deck on the portside to the top of the tank but you have to lay on your stomach on cabin floor and feel for the connection to ensure taht the clips holding it on haven't rusted away.
White corrugated pipe comes from the extractor vent on the stern and should suck fumes/ gas whatever out of the bilge.
The other green pipe will be the new bilge pump line.

Hope thats helpful

Dipstick thinghy = Broken old bilge puymp shaft. Throw away and glass hole over as they are next to useless.

Stained Deck - Cillit Bank works a treat or the very expensive marine cleaner Y3

Rusty pipe = Vent pipe that goes to the vent on the outside of teh cockpit caoming (Port side)

Hope that helps.

Thanks Steve - yes - I meant Bush! I am going to tackle the engine
control thing tomorrow - wish me luck. Am I right in thinking it
adjusts gears, throttle and prop pitch? - all with one lever!

Hi John

Good luck with the control lever (You'll need it!). It is stainless and aluminium together so I expect they will be welded!

The lever controls the pitch of the prop and the revs of the engine at the same time.

One thing that really helps to loosen "frozen" metal is some stuff called
"Aerokroil." Not sure if it is available over there, but Brion Toss got me
hooked on it and it really works well. Not cheap however. I used it in
getting stainless bolts out of aluminum mast extrusions with great success.
I found letting it soak up for a day or two is the trick.

I have to agree with Steve on this one. I tried a number of products including PB Blaster over several weeks and that shift handle wasn't coming apart from the aluninum base for anything. It was the one piece I couldn't save when removing the engine and I ended up cutting it off.
