It was written on what looks like some type of filter. When I removed it (I've been cataloging
all of the wiring), some oil came out.

By the way, I found the screw on the prop boss. Now in search of a grease fitting.

and oiling" or close to that, anyway.

What is it an air filter? There's similar wording on my motorbike one and it means wash and re-oil when dirty.

Every Otto or Diesel motor has (I hope) an air filter. In your car it's the round thing (some are now square). They need to be cleaned at some interval, or like in a car, replaced. Look at your lawn mower, there is also an air filter, most of the time only a rubber square part; that air filter can also be discarded, but most of the time you can clean it with gasoline or diesel and when done, put some oil on. If an air filter ever gets clogged, you'll know- the motor either runs bad, doesn't want to start, or just is dead. And YES, there is an air filter on your bike; it should sit just ahead of the carburator (or carburators, most bikes have now 4)

Thanks for the translation. That makes sense, since its the air filter from my Volvo MD6A.
I'll clean it out and oil it for the reinstallation.
