I'm interested in the Campbell Sailer 3 blade propeller offered on the Westbynorth web site. I have a H340 with a 2 blade prop at present and have been looking for a fixed, 3 blade, low drag propeller for some time. Has anyone installed one of these? Were the results as claimed? The boat is out of the water at this time, but I hope to start spring commissioning work soon, so I need to make up my mind. Any input is appreciated. I know lots of people are going to recommend that I go with a folding or feathering type of propeller, but I really don't want to spend that kind of money. The Campbell Sailer is reasonably priced and I'm willing to sacrifice a little speed under sail to get a little better handling/performance under power. Thoughts, opinions?

We've had a Campbell Sailer for about 2 years now. Best prop I've ever installed so far. As far as fixed props go, low drag and good thrust. I don't think you'd reget this if you are going with a fixed blade prop. J. Moore s/v Neverland Dana Point, CA

My choice also

I installed the Campbell Sailor prop on our Hunter 36 this past year. I like the prop because of its lightweight and low drag for a fixed three blade prop. The prop drives our boat very easily although it is a slight bit oversize for our engine, a 3GM (not the 3GM30. It probably is better matched for the 3GM30. The prop size is 15 inch diameter, 9 inch pitch, and fits a 1 inch diameter shaft. If you decide to go for it, I would like to know what size prop is recommended for your boat/engine for comparison. two blade to three

I changed my two bladed prop to a three blade upon the excellent recommendations of the engineers at Campbell. I had performance and engine problems which were resolved with the new prop - except for the prop walk in reverse. The Campbell prop is a winner.

Well, I went for it. Talked to Westbynorth, they answered all my questions and recommended that I install a 15x9x1 three blade. I should have it by April 1 and hope to have the boat in the water shortly thereafter. Damn, its been a long winter! Can't wait to get back on the boat! I'll try to post again after I've used the Campbell Sailer for awhile. Good luck to all and smooth sailing!
