I am a woodworker and I have a 356. I want to make a set of campanion way doors that are vertical bi-fold design. I can do this, but I recall last summer one of the forums on this site had some great photos of nearly exactly what I am looking for. I have searched until my fingers are numb and can not find that photo. Can anyone help?
P.S. My wife and I sailed Lake MI and Lake Huron for 3 months steady last summer. It was -hands-down the most awesome experience ever.

Click on Boat Info, click on owner modifications, there's a schematic with complete instructions, I it them to make my doors, they make it so much easier the use the companion way. The hinges are the key to making them work.

Starboard is nice because you don't have to varnish every couple of years, but I like the look of wood.

I made my own out of teak. I have removable lexan with screens. My only problem is the teak is weak and needs reinforciing at the corners. I think starboard would have been a better option.

Thanks to all who responded. I will take your ideas and see what pops out of my woodshop this winter. You can expect photos in a few weeks.

I had a friend make teak doors for our boat. The hinges allow the doors to be lifted up off the other half of the hinge so the doors can be easily removed. The screens were built in and covered with plexiglas inserts. Cost about $800. This is the first season they have been in, so we will see how they hold up. We coated them with Signature Honey Teak.
