Peggy: The problem is clear now, but for a while there it appeared I had struck oil in my own sailboat. I finally got a snake to go through the clog at the bottom of the tank -- but I had to go through the outflow pipe where it was cut and joined by a nipple at a level a little bit below the top of the tank. You can guess what happened when I heard the snake go through the clog and opened it up: Came a gusher. Whoa, Miss Agnes! Two hours of cleaning up later, things were relative back to normal. Pumps out easily and quickly for the first time in a long, long time.Jack
