This 23 footer is nearly the perfect little cruiser, except for the lack of cam cleats. Anyone have a suggestion ? Did you use spacers too ?

Hi. I asume you are refering to a H23. I had a 1989 that was my first sailboat. We had it for 5 years and loved it! We added a LARGE cleat to the foredeck for anchoring, and 2 smaller cleats to the port/strbd stern. I extended my mainsheet and put turning blocks at each end of the traveller and then camcleats above them on the seat back. I then made the mainsheet into a continuous loop so I could work the sheet/traveller from the highside. It worked great! I bought a 155 genny for it. We even cruised for a week on LAke Michigan in it. We have since moved up to a H28.5. But we still miss our 23. If we were to move to an inland lake again, we would get another one. Hope this helps.

Extend main ?

Extended the mainsheet ? Mine already sails like the jib is too small/main too big...and my jib just barely clears the lines to the top of the mast. Is that a 100% ? Maybe I need a 125% ? This is my first sailboat too.

Genoa track location

This isn't a great deal of help but My 23 has tracks located directly in front of the wenches. They're about 14 inches long and do work pretty will with my 150. They just don't look "right". The boat came with this set-up and I haven't yet found a better location (the 23's deck being the way it is). If any one has a better location I'm interested.
