You out there Pat? Was that your Hunter on the beach a mile or so down from Cedar Point? I sailed by, turning around at the water tower. Nice day for a sail.

Hi Jerry

Yes, Jerry, that is my 146 about 1/2 mile toward CP from the water tower. (note, there is also a 146 closer to the tower.) mine has the Hobie Bob on it.

I've had some good sailing this summer.

What are you sailing these days? Are you going to the boat show next week?

Hi Pat

Hi Pat,

Then I think I saw your boat. It had a Hobie float on top. I like your wheeled rig for launching, very cool. I'm sailing my 23' Precision. I keep it at Battery Park, K64 if you ever find yourself over that way. Monday I was sailing just off the no-wake bouys along the beach. Down to the water tower and back.

I'm planning to hit the CP boat show, but not sure which day.

Hi Jerry

Thanks for the note, Jerry.

That was my boat. I went with the Bob after I saw three muscular teen boys turn turtle about a mile off my beach this summer in a 146. Even with all that strength they had a heck of a time righting it.

The beach dolly I use is made by Seitech. It works pretty well but I still need a winch and motor to pull it up the grade. Even with the oversize tires they dig into the soft sand. I wouldn't want to try it with a much heavier boat. (That's why I ended up with the 146 rather than the 170 which I preferred.)

I do get over to Battery Park sometime. Perhaps I'll stop by. When do you haul out for the season? I'm headed to FL for the winter so I'll be stepping the mast sometime in Sept.

Out in October

Pat,

I'll try to stay in until the first or second week in October. I pull it out at the city ramps. Stepping the mast on the 146 is probably pretty easy, but if find yourself in need of a hand, come look me up on the weekends at BP.

Florida sounds like a good place for winter. The wife and I spent last Christmas in Key West. We'd both like to go back this year.
