i have a 1974 oday 20 comming to me, here is my thoughts. headroom in this is less than 4ft. am i able to take the cabin sole down more to give a bit more headroom? judging by the pictures it looks doable..... are there any tips? comments? nay sayers? any thoughts would be appreciated. tia
anyone? or is the cabin sole pretty much at its lowest point? (picture for reference)

The most you MIGHT gain is about an inch or two of additional headroom. The cabin sole is pretty close to the inside of hull. Not worth all the work to modify.
If you want more head room, get a longer boat. The liner in these boats just dress-up the inside of the hull. Not much room left to add. Some boats have a pop-up cabin top, you might look for one of those, Catalina comes to mind. There are probably others.
