The 2-46's were motor sailers and as such did well. As a pure sailboat they were comfortable but needed the motor to go to windward in any seas effectively. The one I sailed on was cruising in Mexico and overloaded. The boat was slow but great off the wind if it blew over 15Kts and was the most comfortable boat at anchor. That is a big plus since 95% of the time is at anchor on the dock. My 43 will be for sale soon if anyone is interested. It sails very well.
