Thanks to Reudi Ross for the great cabinet idea - I finally got this thing finished. I modified his plans somewhat to leave off the door and just store bulky lightweight items like bread and chips, but it has a lip so things don't slide out. I had to cut a hole in the drawer side to clear the knob on the stove (removed for usage). I also added a breadboard in a channel that I got from Rockler. A little extra width on the side was added to mount a clock, thermometer and barometer (more Rockler stuff). All in all a worthwhile project that makes use of that dead space and now I don't have to wrestle big items out of the storage near the sink.

nice job

Very nice a job well done. You wouldn't happen to have the specs required to order a new set of sails for a 2000 hunter 240 would you. I've sent my originals out for repairs and now find every sail maker in the country wants exact dimensions before they make me a new set. :(

Sail Dimensions from the Owner's Manual

Main is 151 ft2 P = 24'-3" E = 10'-6" Jib is 94 ft2 J = 8'-6" I = 25'-6" LP = 8'-9.5" Thanks for the compliment. My sails were made by Doyle and I would think you could order them through this website.

sails

You would think you could, but try it sometime ;) There are all types of other measurements they want regarding furling unit measurements, distance from top of boom to cunningham hook etc. You can't even order them from Doyle without all these additional specs and they are the ones who made them in the first place.
