I have a 1990 Hunter 30. There are some areas in the cabin where the wood needs to be refinished due to either sun bleaching or leaks. Does anyone have any experience with refinishing part the interior wood so it matches the rest of what is probably the factory finish? Thanks for your help.

Probably Daly's Seafin.

Charlie: It is probably Daly's Seafin. You may need to sand and stain the area before applying any finish. You may also want to put some bleach water on the wood to remove any water stains too.

Daly's Seafin is great...

Wipe it on with a cloth rather than a brush and you get a beautiful hand rubbed look. And you can easily refresh the finish by wiping on another coat in subsequent years. I just refreshed mine, only took about 40 minutes and it looks good as new. Laura Bertran 1985 H31, Rising Tide

Daly's Seafin & Profin

I have heard that Daly's profin is the finish for interior sole and that Seafin is for interior bulkheads and cabinets. Is that what others beleive? Also what is a good source to get Daly's. I have not run across it in stores (marine or otherwise). Regards' Dick Carey S/V Puffin H-33.5

It is available in the W/M catalog.

Dick: It is available in the West Marine Catalog. Knowing West Marine, they will have to order it for you.
