Can anyone with a Hunter 25 provide me with a photo of their cabin steps. I need a template. Any measurements, photos or drawings appreciated, thanks. mark.crociati@montaukfinancial.com

I'll try

Mark, We're supposed to go to the lake next weekend. I'll try to come up with some useful figures/photos for you. Randall

Cabin ladder

I will take some measurments when I'm next on my boat, but a picture will make it really simple. The trick is not to make the angle so shallow as to intrude on the cabin too much. I'll be in touch. My h25 has the stock item in place and in good condition. Regards, Jim

Cabin ladder

I wish I had a drawing to show you, Mark, but the truth is I am feeling my way through this myself. I dismantled the entire aft end of the cabin to install a piece of teak plywood against the inside of the cabintop, with the express intention of reengineering the whole companionway anyway. You don't say which model year your boat is, but mine is a first-generation 'Mk 1'. The Mk 1 boats had a cooler under a step and another step above it to the hatch. There was no actual ladder. I am in the middle of making one with legs wide enough to accommodate the cooler, really short bulkheads in white-overlay plywood. Behind that go the two batteries. I am adding in a bridge deck for the traveler and will close up the bottom 12 inches or so of companionway, so in the end it will be like a blend of the original Mk 1 boats and the Mk 3s and Mk 4s with the galley counter serving as a top step. Good luck on making one on your own. I can't wait to get mine done to take photos and show people. I hope you will get us some pics of your solution as well. JC
