. . .
Thanks to Tim R. for his advice during the process as well as documenting your project and giving us the confidence to do this ourselves. Just about finished now. Need to decide on the fastening system and add a piece of hardware to the bilge cover.

There are more details on the project here

Beauty, I redid the 2 tiny pieces in the V-berth before the weather turned too nice to work. BTW Jamestown distributors has very good prices on those round lift rings, chrome or polished brass which I think look really good.
OOPS, never mind, I see you've elimanated the toe snubber on the bilge cover.

NICE

Makes me wish I'd done B4 and after flix.

BUT: I KNOW we did them. The Admiral did most of the work. :):):)

May I add more congratulations!
That's a fine wood working project.
I posted this site link also to the long sole-replacement thread over at the EY.org site, since it's so closely aligned with the techniques shown there.
Thanks again for sharing your pictures and narrative.

Cheers,
LB

Great job!

Very nicely done. It was great that you could take the floor out of the boat.

I got ready to refinish my sole and learned that the O'Day folks, in their infinite wisdom, had set the floor with 5200. Except for the center panels that cover the bilge, everything else was fastened in their forever.

So, spent a lot of time laying on the settees, hanging off the steps and leaning over the sink to get it right.

Here's the good part of your project -- you'll smile every time you open the companionway and come down the steps. I still do two years later.

Good work!
