Here's how my lights work
On my 81' H30, the majority of the lights are clear plastic dome lights. If I rotate them and pull lightly, I can find the point at which they will come off. Some times I have to gently pry them off with my fingers. Usually I get one side to release first, and then the rest of it comes free.

You need to post a picture as we are not sure what type of light fixtures you have on your boat. My 1979 30' Hunter had 4" square fixtures which you pinched to remove the lens as there was small tabs on two sides. My lens had turned yellow and were very brittle, so be carefull. You might find as I did that the underneath fixture is very rusted around the bulb holder. These fixtures seemed straight out of a RV catalog. I have now replaced all of them with a vented light fixture that is brass. Replacement was easy as I was able to use the existing wires. The hard part was the money. Good Luck Ian s/v Meant to Be
