I have a Hunter 25.5. Love it. All the cabin lights were taken out when I got it. So... I am looking for new ones. What do you all recommend? They must be flush mount. Also, where is the best place to buy them. I am remote so I will be shopping online.

Thanks

If I were redoing my lighting, I'd go for an LED system. Just a thought. Also, I like light. So i'd put one above each cabin seat and one in the V-berth.

Flame on about this but -

I've recently supplemented my '82 H22's mostly-working cabin lighting with inexpensive, battery-powered push type LEDs. Like the kind for $5 at Walmart. My reasoning for this is that with the low, low power consumption of an LED, battery life isn't much of a problem. Also, I can replace the whole unit for the price of a bulb in the stock lights.

ALSO - anyone else install a smoke detector??? I mean, 'duh'. A CO detector might not be a bad idea either. I wonder if they make anything for general hydrocarbons as well - propane and gasoline come to mind...

Sethic, No flaming here, we use the $5 battery powered LED lanterns from Walmart on our boat.
Both of our cabin lights work but this
saves my boat battery for important stuff like the Admirals tunes and running lights
3 on our boat and they seem very dependable
This will be our third year using them
I run one up the main halyard with a downhall line at anchor
Friends have told me they could see it 3 miles away
They didn't know it was me until they got there and thought I'd put the new LED mast light on
Fresh double A's in the spring last all year
One night the stern light went and I just hung one off the stern with a bungee
I later repaired my stern light but the LED lantern was brighter and got us safely back in
This why I'm refitting with LED in the spring
We don't have a smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector
