As of this past Saturday I am the proud owner of a 2002 C34 MKII and Love It! One question..... While having "all" of the halogen cabin lights on last night, all of a sudden they went out and did not trip the "Cabin Lights" breaker on the panel. The dome light over the galley sink along with the head light are out as well. The navigation light at the Nav station is still working fine. If anyone can tell me where to look for an inline fuse??? or something to fix this that would be Great. Thanks, Scott

try this...

pull out the candles for a romantic evening with the wife! Or, you could try to trace out the wiring. I would try behind the breaker panel first. Look for the connection to the "cabin lights" breaker. Often there is so many wires crammed into the panel that they push against each other and one slips out of its questionable crimp. I can't imagine there being an inline fuse, but I'm usually wrong! A voltmeter would be useful. Good Luck Rob

Try the C34 Assoc. website

Welcome to C34 ownership. The Manuals section at www.c34.org show the wiring diagram. The fuse or CB in your case is on the panel. There should be no other fuses or CBs in the lights' wiring. It sounds like a bad connection in the wiring to the lights. Check out the electrical wiring diagram in the manual. Also check out Forums on the website for the Message Board, like this a daily Q&A for your C34 questions.

Ask the previous owner

Perhaps the lights were an upgrade, and the P/O had experienced the problem too.

Thanks

Stu and others...... Thanks so much for the info and Stu see you at C34.org as well. Ahhh, Yes, the candles. After 11 yr of marriage and a 3 yr old daughter I sometimes need to be reminded of the candles....lol I a assuming it must be in the wiring since the CB on the panel seems to be fine. Thanks again..... Scott

Found It

I figured I would post the solution to the cabin light failure just for future reference should anyone encounter this problem. I was able to narrow down (after two hours or course) that a bad ground in one of the "blue" snap wire splices just behind the wood trim piece near the port sattee halogen light had failed. There must have been a few strands of wire that where damaged during the manufacturing process and upon having all the halogen lights on in the boat caused the 14g black ground wire to overload at that point and fail. Easy to fix by simply slicing in a new section of 14g marine wire and the use of crimmped connectors instead of the "blue" snap ones.
