Jim Kelly bought a 270 in St Augustine that needed all new cushion/matress covers, bimini, etc. He hired a woman in that area that had all the Hunter patterns and fabric to replace them all. It was all done for a very reasonable amount. I'll copy this to him and see if he can give you an email for her.

We replaced all of our cabin cushion covers as well as the stern & Vberth mattress covers (we kept the original foam). We also replaced the bimini cover & bought stern rail seat cushions (seat & back), sliding hatch cover, boom tent, & hatch tent. The SEW SHOP in Alachua Florida 32615 Tel 386-462-4584. The cabin cushions were done in the heavy duty Hunter fabric. Nice quality work. Doing it again we would also replace the foam.

They also made a snap on sunbrella sun shelter for the back of our Bimini as well as one for the side; these have been very useful. The sliding hatch cover has also been extremely valuable for keeping the cabin dry.

The pricing was excellent.

We contacted US Yacht Cushions in St. Augustine when we needed our replaced. They used to make cushions directly for Hunter until the early 90's, but didn't have the 260 patterns. We sent them our old cushion covers for the salon and the front and aft berths, and they made new ones for us. You can contact them at (727) 528-9644. The expensive part will be the foam, because of the price of oil now.

We paid $600 for the cushions around the table, done in the high quality Hunter dark blue fabric, but we kept the original foam. We cannot remember what we paid for recoverng the mattresses, but believe it was less than $400 total.
We do not know if she previously worked for Hunter as an employee, but I believe she stated that she was a supplier to the company. I should add that we got these prices during the worst of the economic crisis.

I would also recommend that you contact US Yacht Cushions. They are in St. Petersburg, FL. so you can drive there to save the cost of freight. They make quality products at reasonable prices and have a hugh selection of commercial grade fabrics. I would also recommend that you replace the foam.

I would also recommend JSI also in St. Petersburg, FL. I believe they are the current OEM cushion manufacturers for both Hunters and Catalinas. I had a set of cockpit cushions made for my H22 - cost me $250, with different colored piping.

While we haven't replaced the covers, we did wash them back to "like new" and replaced the tired foam in our '04 260 last fall. A firm 4" blank that was about the size of a single mattress ran about $200 and I needed two to do the aft berth and our newly expanded V-berth.

If you cut your own foam make absolutely sure that you steam the old foam edges back out to it's original size before you do your layout. As it's being steamed the old foam instantly increased about 15% in size back to correctly fit what the covers were cut for. My upholstery shop had a steaming tool and did mine for free but an old steam iron might do it too. As advised by my upholstery guy after doing my layout I cut the foam to fit with an electric carving knife and could easily section pieces together with 3m 77 adhesive.

I finally found the receipts from the Sew Shop. Upholstering the Cushions around the table done in the heavy Hunter dark blue fabric over the original foam was $699, not $600 as previously stated. The V Berth cushions were recovered over the existing foam for $188. The Aft Berth cushions were recovered over the existing foam for $155. The companionway cover was $155.
