C80.....Radar

I am trying to install a c80 with radar on my boat.....I am testing the equipment at home........I can get the radar to turn on and off but I have no position or heading.....I am guess I need a gps antenna....(i dont have autopilot)

Yes, you need a gps antenna. the radar is not that smart.

Yes, and for heading you need an electronic compass. Some people will tell you course and heading are the same on radar/plotters, but nothing is farther from the truth.

With the radome hooked up, you should be getting some target returns on the screen. With relative heading mode selected, you don't need a compass heading input. And, unless you are trying to overlay the radar picture over a map, you don't need a gps input. I would give a RayMarine tech a call before fitting it all to the boat.
