C30 shift cable

I recently bought a Catalina 30. The shift cable at the transmission was not hooked up. Where is the outer cable secured on that end? Is there a bracket for this?

It was probably taken apart because the shifting into forward was too hard.
I spent yesterday afternoon trying to adjust it. One notch looser seemed too loose so I set it back where it was. I am using a 10 inch long pipe to shift with.

I had to do the same with my Catalina 27 which I will be selling, it had the bracket so just had to secure and adjust the cable.

my wife wanted more room inside so I got a 30.

Any help on the shift cable would be appreciated.

I just replaced the transmission on my C30 with M25xpb I put in a ZF10 which was 1 inch longer than the previous transmission. The old transmission had a bracket which would not fit with the new set up. I drilled two holes in the cabin sole directly aft and in line with the actuator on the transmission and bolted the cable bracket from underneath. It is very important that the actuator moves a full 35 mm top position or 30 mm bottom position to fully engage the transmission. Failure to fully engage will result in premature transmission failure.

Found the mount, it is a short piece of wood, maybe 6" of 2 X 4
That bolts to the cabin floor behind the transmission.
