removehtml]Hi..... I am in the process of buying a 1989 C30. On the starboard side close to amidships about a 5' area of the rubber or vinyl rub rail has popped out of the aluminum rail. There appears to be a dent in the aluminum. It would seem that the rubber part could be fit back in with the help a screwdriver. Inside the boat in the same area when I looked inside the locker behind the settee cushion, there was some separation of the bonding between the linner and the hull. There was also a little water the locker next to the same area ( resent rain). Does anybody have any comments on this? My only concern is that glass part of the hull/deck joint my be damaged. Any help would be appeciated. Cliff Error: Error: expected [/URL], but found [/removehtml] instead[/removehtml]

The rub rail is relatively easy to replace

and you can get material from Catalina yachts or Catalina Direct. The hull deck joint is very well made and unless there was a really severe incident that popped the rub rail (like a big whack job!) it should be an easy fix. Use the archive search feature at the top of the page, type in rub rail and use exact phrase and there's tons of information. Specific to C30s, go to the C30 Owner's Association website, www.catalina30.com and learn even more. Almost all Catalinas have good association websites. Except for the C30s with a .com, most all are www.c (or Catalina) boat size. org
