we stepped the mast yesterday to carry out general maintenance etc. I found out the reason why the deck light and mast light stopped working.

I tried finding wiring diagrams for the mast without much luck. Please see attached picture to show set up.

Before I proceed with fixing all the connections, I need to make sure I am doing the right thing.

From what I can see the white wire on the connector goes with the white one leading to anchor light at the top of the mast making one circuit. the brown wire on the connector would go with the green on the wire leading to the streaming light and deck light at mid mast, thus completing the second circuit on this wire.

Does this seem right to you experts out there?

Cheers,

I believe the green wire is a grounding wire for all the mast lighting, yellow is for the bow light (steaming?) and white is for the anchor. I don't know what the brown one is. The schematics say that orange is the spreader light. From the picture it looks like you reran new wiring from the mast? 1 duplex and 1 triplex or is that original wiring? My 1977 'loose' primary wire through the mast for each leg...

You should remove all of the butt joints and redo them using waterproof heat shrink...that would give you some piece of mind. I noticed that the yellow wire off the plug has tape or heat shrink around it.

Also, once you redo the connections, grab an extra battery and check them while they're down to be sure they all work.

Good luck!

I rewired mine with a trailer hitch connector I got at an RV store. I just took an old 12v battery with alligator clips and could identify each wire. The blacks are the negatives.
