I am a new owner of a 76 C22 swing keel found very inexpensively. With a little work it is going to be great. However, I am being to find that finding a trailer for my boat is going to be a lot harder than I thought. Is there some hidden market out there sucking up old C22 trailers or where are they hidden?? Thanks in advance for advice.

Make one

You can get a power boat trailer long enough to carry your boat and make it into a C22 trailer. Try to get one that has bunks. Take off the power boat stuff and get new (longer) bunk supports, buy some 2x6's and bunk carpet. (Check out Champion trailer in Slidell, LA - They have a web site). The trick is getting the bunks set up right to support the boat. To do this, start by taking a good look at someone else's boat trailer and measure carefully and take a few pictures. Put in a roller or other type of keel support that will take the strain off the SS wire that supports the keel. This is the lowest cost way to get a trailer. A new trailer is $2000 to $2500 depending on whether it is single or dual axle and has brakes. Some states require brakes for anything over 3500 lbs which is easy to do with a C22 and trailer together.www.forced-womanhood.com
