C22 mast replacement

Anyone in this group had experience replacing mast on early model ('82)Catalina 22? I would like to hear from first-handed experience if the new style mast would fit the older boat.CatalinaDirect told me I would have to purchase the entier set (rather than just the extrusion which is $300 less) because the new mast has different geometry, thus old accessories would not fit on the new mast.What about upper/lower shrouds, will the old one fit or I have to replace the entire rigging kit as well.Also wondering if the new mast has different mast bent than the old one (if it bent at all) and if the old mainsail will be ok on new mast.Thank you for any first-handed experience you may have.

Mast Replacement

I have a '76 Catalina 22. I lost the mast when a lower shroud failed. After looking at various sources, I went with Catalina Direct. I purchased the entire mast assembly - including spreaders, masthead assembly, and lights. Some of these parts from my old mast would not fit the new mast as the new mast is a different configuration. I also replaced all the standing rigging with a kit from Catalina Direct. The mast assembly and the standing rigging fit my boat perfectly - I had no problems installing the new mast. I used my old boom and mainsail with no problems also. My experience with Catalina Direct was good. It just took a long time to receive the new mast; approximately eight weeks. Good luck.
