Where can one get hold of a "mast gate" for a C22. I can't seem to locate one already manufactured. I found an idea on the C22 National Org site that a person could make from carpet molding but I'm not interested in fabrication.

The link below shows the mast gates offered by Catalina Direct. But if you trailer your boat, they are a nuisance. Better to use Catalina Direct's Boom Stop and a main sail jack line for reefing when you trailer your boat.

I looked in my Catalina Direct Manual and could not find a mast gate and I have two manuals. One from this January and one from several years back. I also looked at the Catalina Direct Online store and didn't see one. Could be these ole eyes ain't what they used to be. Thanks again, got what I was looking for.

Rusty or Others: Cutting the aluminum door jam (ACE, HD, Lowes, etc. stock them) and then a little filing to shape is quite easy, probably less of a chore than the drilling of holes in the mast and installation of the gates. Need only hand tools-- hacksaw, metal file, drill, and screwdriver. I find the gates extremely useful if keeping the boat in the water. Even if its just for a few days, installation and removal is worth it for me. Dick
