our C22 lets water in from somewhere near the cabin entrance. wa=ter is often found in teh battery compartment, and a little on the port side of the floor. Is there a common area these tend to leak? Thank You in advance.

Cabin Hatch Boards
Very frequently, the cabin hatch boards will allow water to enter when they are facing into the wind when there's a driving rain. One solution is to have a hatch cover made out of sunbrella that matches the color of your mainsail cover.

C 22 Low Spot
Randy: When at rest in my 1975 C 22, if there is any water in the bilge from any source it tends to end up in the battery area. When I had a problem like yours in my boat, I finally found the problem as far forward as you can go in the bow where the deck meets the hull. Water entered when crashing thru waves. The forestay tension had caused the separation. The fix was to install a turnbuckle between the forestay attachment bolt that goes thru the deck, and the bolts that attach the boweye that we use to attach to the front of the trailer, plus some sealant. Catalina Direct sells a nice kit for this repair, which is a common upgrade for older 22's. Dick

hello randy if your boat is kept in the water, it may be leaking through the lower rudder gudgeon. Mine leaked into the area under cockpit and then seeped into the battery-port side area through a crack in the gellcoat good luck john

Not sure if the 25 is similiar to my 22, but
until recently i had my boat under a cover and no problem with water inside. Well i moved not too long ago and it sits in a storage yard now and I haven't had time to put a cover over it. Last week was the first time I had a chance to open the boat up and found around 2 gals of water had leaked into the boat.Long story short. Found that one of the fresh air tubes had water in it when i moved it aside. And YES I did have them blocked up just for that reason. I believe I had the trailer tilted to high in front for the amount of rain. Along with just using some rags to block up the vent, wasn't enough. Again, never been on a 25, so...hope you find where the waters comin in...

My leaks
My C22 had two leaks, one of the windows and the lower gudgeons. The gudgeon only leaked when underway with the motor which pushed the gudgeon below water. The window only leaked whe it rained. Fixed them both and now a dry C22!
