C&C 34 babystay issue. A friend had the threaded rod below the turnbuckle that disappears into the floor of the boat break. Does anyone know how this is terminated? Seems like a stupid way to terminate a babystay inside of the boat. No access to see what's going on.

Seems to me that the babystay is well forward of the keel. How is that rod attached to the keel? The rod disappears into fiberglass well forward of any of the keel bolts.
Panting Rod, prevents upward movement of the coachroof due to stay pressure. On my Oday, there is a flanged barrel nut attached to the rod, and a corresponding hole in the mast step. It may be more obvious when removing or lifting the mast. But I also have access when lifting bilge covers.
