Hi all hoping someone can tell me what the Air Draft of a C&C 40-2 is? The one I am looking at has 2 sets of spreaders so I believe this is not the tall rig version but if anyone knows more please enlighten me. I think the tall rig version has 3 sets of spreaders???

Would greatly appreciate any help on this.

With out the boat you are concerned about, the next best is to make educated guesses.
Using the data available from Sailboat Data
The mast from the level of the boom to the top of the mast…
Tall boat 49 ft. Or a standard boat 47 ft.
Estimating the height from the water to the level of the boom could be 5-7 ft.

Being conservative in this case, a reasonable number might be 63-65 ft. I suspect this number is overstated. You can use it to slip under a bridge. Likely you will actually measure the Airdraft before you power up towards the bridge.

Thanks for the reply, I had looked on sailboatdata and done a best guess as well. Current owner isn't sure of height but thinks it is 60feet, isn't sure if that includes vhf aerial though.

Hopefully someone can confirm from experience, also if anyone can confirm my suspicion as to regular vs tall rig that would be much appreciated. Want to make absolutely sure I am dealing with the standard rig.

Thanks.

I do not know about you, but if I wanted to be absolutely sure, I would take a tape measure to the boat and run the tape up the mast with a halyard, measuring the distance from the mast head to the level of the gooseneck. If it read 46ft I have a standard rig. If it goes beyond it is a tall rig.

Only you can measure and be absolutely sure.

All of the short cuts to this answer will always have you second guessing.
