C & C 37 Boat speed sensor..

1982 C&C 37 where is the Boat Speed Sensor ?.. A friend nearly sunk her SJ28 in the Puget Sound when hers failed. I would like to put eyes on mine from the inside. Where should I start looking?

Could be anywhere below water. These items are dealer or owner installed, not from the factory. Look in the bilge, locker bottoms, etc.

Follow the tranducer wire from the back of your speed instrument to the transducer. Like Capt jgw said, it could be anywhere but usually forward of the leading edge of the keel.
