Looked at this boat for sale this weekend and it looks promising. It has Rod Rigging which I am unfamilar wirh and it is a centerboard model drawing 4'8" up with a bulb keel which looks like an extra cost option. It is .45 % balast which is one of the highest balasted boats I have ever discovered. I assume it is a solid fiberglass hull and cored deck. Thanks for any insite!

Kenny, If you do a "Google" search, you will find a great deal of information on the C&C 37. HTH

If you get serious about this boat have someone

check that rod rigging. It has its own set of faults.

Hulls on C&C's are cored..

The hulls on C&C's are in fact cored and they are cored below the water line. Be SURE to have a thorough out of water survey and a good rigging specialist to inspect the rod rigging. If the rigging is original 22 years is a long time for standing rigging. I replace it every ten years, which never happens cause I never keep a boat that long, or every time I buy a used boat which seems to happen quite often! I just replaced the rigging on my CS36 even though it passed a rigging survey. It's cheap insurance in my book losing the spar could cost you an entire sailing season not to mention lots of $$$!!!

Thanks for the input. Its back to an Ericson 38

I am afraid of cored hulls. Especially below the water line. Ericson uses some stiffing above the water line but solid below. I love the Ericson 38 but have not found one I think I can afford yet!

I can't afford mine either

But I got it anyway. Settle on it next tuesday. I could be just flat wrong but the way I see it, it shouldn't depreciate as long as I keep it up better than the last guy. So instead of wanting and dreaming, my kid can't go to college or rehab. (whichever comes first, freakin kids these days) It's my turn. Plan on spending the first week bringing it halfway home, put it on a mooring for 2 weeks, then a week finishing the trip. I looked for a while and it seems like quite a few changed hands this spring so I'd suggest a serious search in about February. Good luck.

My C&C has a solid hull

My C&C 27 has a solid hull with NO core. I have not heard of a C&C with a cored hull actually they are known for having very tough hulls. I will admit I am not up on the 37's so I may be way of base.
