the mast step on my 1980 C&C 30 has deteriorated and must be replaced. there are 3 thwartship wooden stringers that are fibreglassed to the hull of the boat in the bilge on which the metal base for the mast sits. in my boat these stringers have rotted. because of the design of the boat, replacing the stringers is impossible without removing the cabin sole, another almost impossible task. as many older boats must have experience this problem, has anyone heard of a simple way to replace the mast step/
